The Box Hill Community Arts Centre Community Choir began in 2009, and has offered a singing opportunity to over 100 people within the community. The choir, currently with 50 members, meets each Sunday afternoon for simple, rhythmic, melodious tunes (and a cup of tea!). No singing experience is required. Experienced choir leader Belinda Glass really knows how to bring out the best of your singing voice.On August 29th, the choir will be lead by a guest choir master, Richard Lawton. Tea and coffee provided.

This adult class provides the perfect way to have fun and get fit at the same time. If you enjoy dancing but don't want a formal dance class or if the gym is not for you, then come and join us on Monday afternoons in our beautiful Arbour Hall. In this fun class with Vicky, children will be exploring various art methods such as drawing, painting, collage and printmaking. Children will learn a range of techniques with dry and wet media such as pencil, fineliner, pastel,paint, inks. In this fun Saturday morning class we will explore drawing, painting, printmaking and collage. Students can draw from objects or use interesting things around the centre as a starting point to create more imaginative pieces. There will be lots of experimenting with different materials e.g. using sticks for ink drawings and rubbings from the garden to create collages. When painting we learn about colour mixing and different ways of applying the paint. Adele's classes focus on tapping into the imagination to create wonderful mini masterpieces!

Learn the processes of tile cutting, application, grouting and detailing as you develop your own unique mosaic design and apply it to piece of your choice. Bring along something to apply your mosaic to; a mirror, frame, terracotta birdbath, pot or whatever you'd like to transform! A materials list will be provided.

A fun cooking class for young children, this cooking course will involve lots of stirring, measuring, dividing, cooking and most importantly, tasting! Recipes will include, easy spaghetti bake and apple crumble, ham and cheeese puffs and chocolate brownies, home made burgers and banana bread. Some recipes will be set for the course, but children may also have the opportunity to choose some favourites for the final week of the course.

Come and enjoy the pleasure and challenge of drawing the human form from life. Models will include a series of short, medium and long poses in which you can learn to use different mediums. Suitable for beginners or more experienced artists. All materials are included in this course.

This annual exhibition will showcase the work of the fabulous BHCAC tutors. The exhibition will feature works including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics and mosaics.

In this course you will learn to use mixed media and acrylic paint to create contemporary paintings and abstract artworks. Students will explore not only painting, drawing and collage materials and techniques, but also concepts and ideas relating to contemporary painting. This class will be taught by Kathy and is suitable for those students continuing from Contemporary Painting in Term 2 (with Gary) or new students. All materials are included in the cost of this workshop.
