| Reconciliation Week Exhibition 'Recognition' (29 May - 3 June) |

The 2012 theme for National Reconciliation Week is 'Let's Talk Recognition'. Whitehorse City Council in partnership with with Whitehorse Friends for Reconciliation and Reconciliation Victoria presents an exhibition of fine arts and or traditional crafts from Australian Indigenous artists located in the Melbourne Eastern region. A concert will be held on Friday 1 June at Box Hill Community Arts Centre featuring Australian Indigenous singer/songwriter Kutcha Edwards.

A fundraising exhibition in aid of Ovarian Cancer Australia this exhibition showcases a diversity of artworks byćlocal artists. All works celebrate the theme ‘Live, Love, Life" and the majority will include the colour ‘teal’ which is the international colour for ovarian cancer recognised throughout the world.

| Refugee Week Exhibition 'Global Gathering' (19 - 24 June) |

The theme for National Refugee Week in 2012 is ‘Restoring Hope’. This exhibition will feature artwork created by school students attending the ‘Global Gathering’, an event designed to create friendship and understanding between different cultural backgrounds. The event, coordinated by the Eastern School’s Refugee Action Network (ESRAN) is aimed to provide opportunities for positive inter-cultural contact, create and strengthen links with local services, and celebrate and enjoy the rich cultural diversity of schools within the eastern region.

| Idea to Exhibition (26 June - 1 July) |

An exhibition of arworks produced by students entrolled in the Box Hill Community Arts Centre Idea to Exhibition program. Idea to exhibition is a Box Hill Community Arts Centre program aimed at giving secondary school students an opportunity to further their skills in a range of different mediums under the guidance of a profession artists. Students are involved in all stages of the creative process from working their their initial ideas to creating finished artwork and mounting the final exhibition.
