Motherhood Unmasked - Exploring the experience of mothers in Whitehorse (1 - 6 May)

2011-Motherhood-Unmasked-Exhibition

First time mothers are often under-represented in mainstream activities due to the demands of caring for their newborns.New mothers are also at risk of isolation and post natal depression. Using Art Therapy, this community project seeks to empower women from a variety of backgrounds to have a voice and connect with others in similar situations.

Japanese Calligrahy Miho

The Box Hill Community Arts Centre presents 'In the Flow'.  An exhibition of Japanese calligraphy by Miho Araki to celebrate the sister city relationship between the City of Whitehorse and the City of Matsudo from 8-20 May.

Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea Exhibition (22 - 27 May)

Box Hill Community Arts Centre presents a quirky collection of salt and pepper shakers as part of this year's Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser.  Salt and papper shakers will be for sale with all proceeds being forwarded to the Cancer Council. 
The Biggest Morning Tea will be held at Box Hill Community Arts Centre on Thursday 24th May.

National Reconciliation Week Exhibition (29 May - 3 June)

The 2012 theme for National  Reconciliation Week is 'Let's Talk Recognition'.

Whitehorse City Council in partnership with with Whitehorse Friends for Reconciliation and Reconciliation Victoria presents an exhibition of fine arts and or traditional crafts from Australian Indigenous artists located in the Melbourne Eastern region.  A concert will be held on Friday 1 June at Box Hill Community Arts Centre featuring Australian Indigenous singer/songwriter Kutcha Edwards.
