The Box Hill Community Arts Centre will host a range of activities to celebrate the sister city relationship between the City of Whitehorse and the City of Matsudo from 8-20 May.
The Centre will be offering a range of exciting Japanese themed workshops for community members to participate in including Japanese Cooking, Sumie Painting, Japanese Koinobori (carp streamers) and Japanese Calligraphy. An exhibition will be held in the Box Hill Community Arts Centre gallery from 8 - 20 May.
The Boite World Music Cafe presents 'In the Flow'
Japanese Music & Live Calligraphy

Presented by the Boite & supported by Whitehorse City Council, Anne Norman (shakuhachi), NorikoTadano (shamisen, song), Toshi Sakamoto (taiko), and Miho Araki (calligrapher) present a beautiful and energetic performance project in celebration of the Whitehorse sister city relationship with the Japanese City of Matsudo. From the driving rhythms of the taiko drums and tsugaru-jamisen to the folk-melodies of voice and shakuhachi bamboo flute, all interwoven with the beautiful flow of Japanese calligraphy.
