Etching and Collagraphs

  • 8 week course 20 April, 2020

This class will explore the process of nontoxic etching and collagraphs. Using a variety of materials, students will explore the process of layering and mark making to develop a finished artwork over the course. Artist Kate Piekutowski will provide demonstrations of each  technique and allow participants to practice using the processes and etching press under her guidance. Suitable for beginners and more experienced artists.

Materials list will be provided.

Your Tutor

Kate Piekutowski is an Australian/Polish artist from Hobart and has a Masters in Fine Art (printmaking) from UTAS. Being a first-generation child of migrants, she is intrigued by the conept of belonging and her homeland. Her work also explores European history and connection between two places. She has extensively travelled to artist residencies in Portugal, New Zealand, Greece, Italy and India which have resolved in a number of solo exhibitions in Tasminia and Victoria. She now lives in Melbourne and has a studio in Brunswick where she also teaches printmaking workshops.
