Free Zoom Taster – Hand Building – Booked Out

Seize the clay and join the creative Frida as she takes you on a hand building discovery session. With such experience and insight regarding all things clay, Frida will share her wealth of knowledge with you. In this demonstrational zoom session filmed right out of BHCAC, Frida will show you how to carve out your very own Kurinuki Tea Cup and answer any questions you may have as you go along. She’s looking forward to seeing you!

Materials list: Clay – approximately 500g, pin tool (knife or linen thread), cutting wire (fishing line, old cheese slicer or old vegetable peeler), trimming loop tool  (watermelon scooper or teaspoon), wooden tool (or icy pole stick), small sponge, small jar of water, cloth to dry your hands, damp micro cloth or blue chux cloth, board to work on and a banding wheel or a lazy susan (optional).

Your Tutor

Frida has worked at the Box Hill Community Arts Centre since 1999 after completing a Diploma of Arts in Ceramics. She is the resident kiln technician and ceramics tutor. Her ceramics is mainly wheel thrown with occasional hand-building in a functional style. She uses a mix of oriental and contemporary glazes with a minimal style.
