Modern Art Therapy – Japanese Influenced Cracked Pots

  • 1 day course 10 May, 2020

Kintsugi translates to “golden journey” or “golden repair”, it is the ancient Japanese art of mending broken pottery with a powered gold, silver or platinum lacquer. In this workshop led by Art Therapist Emma Finch, you will be given two pots. One you will keep whole and you will decorate your ‘ideal’ journey onto it. The second bowl you will break and create your internal and external journeys using words and symbols on the broken pieces. You will then mend your pot back together and using gold markers create your golden repair. Out of something broken can come something whole, something new, something different and something beautiful. Materials provided.
